Publication Ethics

The Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovations and Therapeutic Horizons (JPITH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring integrity in all stages of the publication process. The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines and best practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold these principles.

  1. Responsibilities of Authors

Originality and Plagiarism:

Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Proper citations should be provided for any content derived from other works.

Data Integrity:

Authors are required to present accurate data and disclose any fabrication, falsification, or manipulation. Data should be made available upon request for verification.

Authorship Criteria:

Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Acknowledgment of Sources:

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of data, funding, and support.

Conflicts of Interest:

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their research.

  1. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Confidentiality:

Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them with others.

Objectivity:

Reviewers should provide constructive, unbiased, and respectful feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.

Acknowledgment of Sources:

Reviewers must ensure that authors have appropriately cited all relevant sources and report any potential plagiarism or ethical issues.

Conflicts of Interest:

Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest, such as competitive, collaborative, or financial relationships with the authors.

  1. Responsibilities of Editors

Fairness and Impartiality:

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality:

Editors must ensure that information regarding manuscripts is not disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.

Ethical Oversight:

Editors are responsible for investigating and addressing any ethical issues raised before or after publication.

Conflict of Interest:

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest.

  1. Responsibilities of the Publisher

Integrity and Accountability:

The publisher ensures that ethical guidelines are followed during the publication process and supports editors and reviewers in handling ethical issues.

Misconduct Investigation:

The publisher collaborates with editors to investigate allegations of research or publication misconduct and ensures appropriate actions are taken, such as issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

Long-term Archiving:

The publisher ensures that all published content is securely archived and accessible.

  1. Handling Ethical Misconduct

Allegations:

Any allegations of ethical misconduct, whether related to plagiarism, falsification, or conflicts of interest, will be thoroughly investigated by the editorial team.

Actions:

If misconduct is confirmed:

Manuscripts under review will be rejected.

Published articles will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.

The authors’ institutions or funding bodies may be notified.
