Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovations and Therapeutic Horizons (JPITH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable, and the journal has a strict policy to detect and prevent plagiarism.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the unethical practice of using another person’s work, ideas, or words without proper acknowledgment. It includes:

  • Copying text, figures, or data from another source without citation.
  • Paraphrasing or summarizing another work without appropriate credit.
  • Reusing significant portions of one's own previously published work (self-plagiarism) without citation.

Plagiarism Detection

  1. Screening Process:
All manuscripts submitted to JPITH undergo plagiarism screening using reliable detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate.
  2. Similarity Threshold:
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 15% (excluding references, direct quotes, and commonly used phrases) are flagged for further review.

Consequences of Plagiarism

Before Publication:

  • Minor Overlap: Authors will be asked to revise the manuscript and provide proper attribution.
  • Significant Overlap: The manuscript will be rejected, and the authors will be informed.

After Publication:

  • The journal will issue a formal retraction of the article.
  • A retraction notice will be published online, detailing the reason for the retraction.
  • The authors’ affiliated institutions and funding bodies may be notified of the misconduct.

Authors’ Responsibilities

  • Ensure the manuscript is original and all sources are appropriately cited.
  • Avoid submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.
  • Provide proper credit for previously published work, including their own.

Editorial and Reviewer Responsibilities

  • The editorial team and reviewers are vigilant in identifying potential plagiarism during the peer-review process.
  • Any suspicion of plagiarism must be reported to the Editor-in-Chief for investigation.

Commitment to Academic Integrity

By adhering to this anti-plagiarism policy, JPITH ensures the publication of high-quality, original research while fostering trust and credibility in the academic community. Authors submitting to the journal agree to comply with these ethical standards.
